Joe's has the best Italian food around. We have tried many other restaurants, and always wind up saying "It was good, but it wasn't Joes". The food is vary tasty, nice portions, and the staff is great. We love this place ! !

As I prefer Mom's home-made Italian cooking, I am generally a little skeptical about trying out Italian restaurants but my Mother actually advocated for this place. I ordered: Linguine with white clam sauce (~$15) Mixed salad (~$5) The orders came with bread as well. Unfortunately I was not impressed with my entree . Though there fresh clams in the shell (a plus) the dish was saturated, literally, with way too much oil (see picture). Additionally, despite all of the oil, the dish lacked flavor! I am not a salt person but found myself adding salt to my pasta. :( The salad was ok, the olives were overly salty though...go figure I sampled some rigatoni that was part of another's entree (chicken parm): the pasta was aldente and the sauce was good Perhaps it was a fluke that my meal was not good... I would be willing to visit this establishment again given the popularity of the place. I think I would just avoid getting the same entree.

Joes pizza have been around for a very long time. Their baked ziti with meat sauce is so good. Also the have a veggie pizza that is so delish. I would recommend joes as a place to have great food.

I've been coming to Joe's for years and I love it. Not only is the food fantastic, the pizza excellent, it is also immaculate! This business is so clean and I really appreciate that in a restaurant. Not a speck of dust anywhere, not a smudge on the glass! The bathroom is kept impeccably clean. You know they really take good care of their shop and serve good quality food.

Joe's is the still best. My favorite hometown pizza joint since high school. I just visited New York for the first time in about 8 years, and Joe's was one of my first food stops. It's just as good as it was 20+ years ago when I'd walk there from Bay Shore High School - same guys behind the counter and all! My Arizona-native girlfriend was equally impressed. I was in town for 6 days, and we just had to have Joe's .... Twice! Be skeptical of anyone who says the place isn't good. A restaurant doesn't stay in business for 40 (yes .... FORTY) years by being mediocre. Joe's will always be on my short list of must-have food when I visit. If there was a way to fly it in to the Arizona desert I'd do it!

Well kids - it's about time that I mention my favorite "cheap" Italian restaurant. Be it pizza or parmesan Joe's is great. Big portions along with low prices makes it a real favorite. I try to avoid the pasta nights and chicken nights when the place tends to get crowded, but otherwise it's a major go. If they could only improve their baked clams Joe's would be perfect.

We had a great meal here on Friday night. The food was all very fresh and served piping hot. I had the fish special (Zuppa Di Pesche) and it was fantastic. We also had the special salad of the day and the Sole Livernese. All very good. Dinner was a little slower than I would have liked and the two specials were a little pricey for an upscale pizza place, but the food was good.

just like the old neighborhood in Queens. Good reliable italian at place where they treat you like family. Try the Bolognese! Meaty goodness! They are the only pizzeria that makes the super-fresh zucchini slice. I know, I know, it sounds meh, but its great. Comes with toasted breadcrumbs and paper thin slices of zucchini. REALLY good.

I always thought this was in Brightwaters, but I guess it's right on the border to Bay Shore. Joe's Pasta & Pizza can be addicting, but not for their takeaway slices! Two words: Chicken Night. Every Thursday, Joe's has a special: for a measly thirteen dollars, you get: bread and garlic knots, salad (Caesar for one extra dollar), entree dish consisting of pasta and chicken of your choice, coffee or tea, and the dessert of the day. If you're lucky, they have the chocolate mousse cake; they regularly have cannoli, carrot cake, and cheesecake. I recommend the Angelo chicken dish (chicken, prosciutto, mushrooms, mozzarella) with the ziti. If it isn't Thursday, they also have Pasta Night on Tuesdays. Same concept, except purely pasta dishes, not chicken. And in case you are wondering, they have pizza. However, the pizza is either sold in slices or whole pizzas to go, no dine-in pizza available on their menu. I moved from Bay Shore, and I have to say one of the few things I will miss from this hamlet will be Joe's Pasta & Pizza. Do yourself a favor and attend chicken night.

It's not Five Star but it's pretty close. Joe's is typical only in the genre of food they sell, which in this case is pizza and typical southern Italian dishes. The high quality of the product is what sets this Bay Shore local eatery apart. Our Tuesday visit was "pasta night" which came along with a specialized menu and included salad, dessert and coffee or tea. Lot of food at low cost. I went with the Linguini in Red Clam Sauce. I was treated to a big bowl of linguini and three real clams along with the chopped variety. Sauce was juuuuust barely enough. I was very pleased that it was not watery at all, something other Italian restaurants seem to get wrong. It was garlicky and flavorful. I soaked up as much sauce as I could with that heaping bowl of garlic knots left for us on the table. Even though my clam sauce wasn't "saucy" enough for my liking it was still delicious. My starter salad was good as well and my dessert was passable. Joe's may not be a fancy place, but its a warm inviting local spot dishing out top notch southern Italian food at reasonable prices, what more can you really want in a place?

Joes has been a Family favorite for many years. I recall a time I walked in tear stained and the guy behind the counter offered me a free drink to calm me down! The Brooklyn slice has always been my favorite. Their pastas are delicious as well, I highly recommend the baked ravioli!

I tried this place for the first time. I never realized it was there as I rarely travel down Howells that far. The sicilian pie was excellent! I definitely want to try some more things there. The place is small with a separate dining room which was filled with happy diners. The pizzeria place is nice with a small counter. They were very friendly and organized too.

Had a Pie....wasn't impressed. The owner acknowledged my order giving me the knod on good order(well done meatball&onion). The sauce was a no show and the pie seemed small for a Sicilian. My father seemed too be pleased so I shall stay with 3 stars instead of me giving it 2. I probably wont go back considering what is in the area.

Every slice I have ever had at this place has been great. Nice people. Good food. You can't use your credit card though unless you spend at least $15. There is an ATM two doors down, though, if you need to get money (it has a $2 service charge).

Joe's Pizza will always hold a fond place in my heart - whenever I am in my old town of Bay Shore I try to make a stop at Joe's. My favorites include the stuffed vegetable slice, as well as the small pizza with the seasoned bread crumbs and caramelized red onions on top. The name is escaping me right now, but it is very similar to oregonata topping on pizza, it is delicious. They also have a small area for restaurant seating if you would like to have a sit down dinner. The menu is small, traditional Italian fare, but everything is fresh, delicious, and moderately priced. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Food is very good! Portions are horrible and rediculously over priced! I actually was scolded by the owner for having an employee give me a larger portion. The arrogance far outweighs the quality. If you're looking for great food and want to be treated like crap and be hungry 5 minutes later, for an insane price? Joe's is for you! I'll never go back! It's a shame because the food is good.

This place makes good pizza. I've had their BBQ chicken and stuffed pizzas both very good. Prices are pretty reasonable and the place is clean. If you are in Bay Shore, make sure to stop at Joe's.
